While studying abroad is becoming a more and more popular choice for Chinese students, Chinese families still face a lot of language, cultural and geographical barriers when making their decisions. iBAF helps to bridge these barriers, first by really understanding what kind of student will thrive in your program, then putting suitable students and families in direct contact with school representatives. This personal communication helps to ¡°de-mystify¡± the study abroad process, allowing students to proceed with confidence, and be successful in their chosen programs.

Campus Tours
In February 2008, a group of thirty people (students, families, and Haiyi staff) participated in iBAF's inaugaural US Boarding School Campus Tour. Visiting fifteen different schools in eight different states gave tour participants a chance to compare campuses and environments first-hand. Whether their goal was to choose a specific school, or just to get more knowledge about studying at an American boarding school, all the group members came away with a greater understanding of boarding school life. Schools had a chance to showcase their own distinct educational culture, both through tours of their facilities and interaction with current students. The visit gave faculty members insight into the needs and concerns of Chinese families at the same time as it gave the families confidence in sending their children abroad at a young age. Since then, iBAF has sent two other large groups as well as several single families to tour campuses in the US.
Joint Programs with Chinese Schools
China is emerging as a world power, and many schools see the value of giving their students a chance to experience Chinese culture, be it through an exchange program or through a joint diploma program. iBAF staff will use their extensive experience in China to help you find the appropriate partner school. We can also work with you to communicate with your partner schools, in order to ¡°smooth the way¡± and ensure the success of your joint venture.
